International Medical Relief (IMR) builds a better and more sustainable response towards the communities we serve through training and partnerships with several health modules. We strengthen global health capacities and increase the well-being and health outcomes through with classes conducted by certified trainers on a variety of medical topics. Partnerships and training initiatives help strengthen the community\u2019s overall health through Helping Babies Breathe, Cervical Cancer Identification and Treatment, Basic Health and complex Disaster Response Initiatives.\u00a0 Partnering and training with community leaders helps increase the resilience of the impact on each community and provides them a more stable and reliable health care foundation.<\/p>

IMR works closely with local and global partners in order to provide communities with the best and most effective care and response as possible. Before any medical trips are deployed, we work with strategic stakeholders and health officials in each location in order to truly understand what the specific needs of that community are, so IMR teams can provide the best care.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Basic Healthcare for All<\/h3><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\tIMR works shoulder-to-shoulder with local health authorities to provide primary and secondary health care services. IMR works to support strained and fragile health care systems in order to continue to deliver health care services to the most underserved and vulnerable communities. IMRs goal is to make sure all residents, even those located in remote villages, have the ability to improve their health and have access to healthcare services. IMR serves the entire community no matter if they are internally displaced people, asylum seekers, migrants or refugees. In 2004, an Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, which is also known as Boxing Day Tsunami or the Sumatra-Andaman Earthquake, struck Indonesia on December 26. The Sumatra-Andaman earthquake was an undersea megathrust earthquake with a magnitude of 9.1-9.3. A series of massive tsunami waves grew up to 30 meters (100ft). Coastline communities were severely affected, and it is estimated that this tsunami killed over 227,000 people in 14 different countries. On May 12, 2008, the Sichuan earthquake, also known as the Wenchuan earthquake, was a massive and enormously devastating earthquake that occurred in the mountainous central region of Sichuan province in southwestern China. The Sichuan earthquake had a magnitude of 8.0, and it ruptured the fault for over 240 km (150 mi), with surface displacements of several meters. There were strong aftershocks, some exceeding a magnitude of 6.0, which continued to hit the area up to several months after the main shock, causing further casualties and damage.
